Lions Clubs International BECOME A BEACON OF HOPE Our new International President, Sid L. Scruggs III, from Vass, North Carolina, has proclaimed the Lion Year of 2010-2011 to be the one in which we rededicate ourselves to Community Service. And in doing so, International President Sid L. Scruggs III has challenged Lions the world over with a message that asks each of us to become a Beacon of Hope to those in need. By selecting the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on the shores of North Carolina as his logo, President Sid L.Scruggs III has committed himself to focus on, and shine a light on, the efforts of Lions and their chosen“Signature Community Service Projects.” The four areas of focus are:

Scruggs III, District 16-B will hold a district-wide contest that will offer two (2) Club Project Awards for each of the first three (3) quarters, and several Club Project Awards at the end of the fourth quarter.
