The 97th Annual Lions Clubs International Convention will be held Friday, July 4 – Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  The MD-16 International Convention Committee is hard at work to make this an enjoyable and rewarding experience for the NJ Delegation.  If you have a yearning for all things International, you must come to Toronto, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in all of North America!  Some important information includes the following:

The early registration fee is $150 until March 31 and $170 after March 31, 2014.  The NJ Delegation Hotel is ‘Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto’, 475 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M4Y 1X7.  Although the hotel is 1.7 miles from the Convention Center, LCI has arranged frequent bus service between the various hotels and the Convention Center.  Also, there is a superb subway/bus/streetcar mass transit system in Toronto.

The NJ Parade Shirts are nearly ready for purchase.  We apologize for the delay.  The shirts will be less formal than in the past few years but good looking; we’ll be marching in style.  We will shortly issue an order form with all the particulars.

A Reception Party for the New Jersey delegation is planned for Friday, July 4, 2014, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm in the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto (our delegation hotel).  This will be a fun event held to honor our three new District Governors-Elect for Districts N, J and L and to celebrate Lionism throughout the state of New Jersey.  After all, we are the most creative and best-loved Lions found anywhere in the world!  A flyer will be issued shortly describing the event and its cost.  Please plan to come and kick off the week in style at The NJ Party on Friday July 4th.  You can’t get any more American than that!

Yours in Service,

John Kobland
