2014 NJ Lions State Convention Information








The New Jersey Lions (MD-16) 93rd State Convention will be held from Thursday May 15th, 2014 to Saturday May 17th, 2014, at the Bally's in Atlantic City, NJ.


This year's convention includes Seminars, Exhibits, Memorial Service, LCIF Dinner, Hospitality rooms, State Breakfast, sub-districts meetings, and elections of the new officers for the new district 16-N, 16-J, and 16-L.  


2013-2015 lamotheThe Friday evening LCIF Dinner will include the presentation of Melvin Jones Felowships, along with remarks by our guest speaker Esther LaMothe.  Saturday morning features awards breakfast, keynote address, followed by the general session.  The Saturday evening Ball will feature music by one of South Jersey's best bands, Pure Joy.


Our International Guest this year is International Director Esther LaMothe from Jackson, Michigan.  ID Esther is a retired school administrator and is an active member of the Midwest Eye-Bank and the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

Proposed Amendments to MD16 Constitution

As required per MD-16 Constitution and By-laws, we are informing all Lions in MD-16, New Jersey, of the Proposed Amendments to MD-16 Constitution and By-Laws to be voted at the 93rd State Convention May 15-17, 2014.










Delete all of Section III



Amend to read – Multiple District 16 shall consist of three sub districts.   District N., District J., and District L. 


Section III would now read - Multiple District 16 shall consist of three sub districts.  District N., District J., and District L.






Delete – Each District of the State shall have at least one representative on each   committee.


Amend to read - All Multiple District 16 Committees shall consist of at least three members one from each sub district N., J., and L.


Section 1 shall now read – The Chairperson of the State Council, with the consent of the State Council, shall appoint the following State Administrative Committees, before August 1st, namely: State Convention, Constitution and By-Laws, Credentials, Rules, Resolutions, Lions Awareness, Necrology, Sergeant, of Arms, International Convention and Parade.  All Multiple District Committees will consist of at least three members one from each sub district N., J., and L  The State Council Chairperson, shall designate the one who shall serve as Committee Chairperson.  The State Council, shall, before September 1st, notify each appointee and send him/her a full list of all committees with names and addresses.  Other committees may be appointed from time to time.
