Chester Lioness Club

The Chester Lioness Club monthly dinner meeting will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, April 5th in the Lamplighter Restaurant, 190 West Main Street, Chester, NJ 07930.

The topic for discussion this evening will be, " Heifer International and Women Around the World", lead by Donna Cirillo, who has been an active volunteer for Heifer International for the past three years.

Founded in 1944 by educator Dan West, Heifer International is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization (NGO) that works to end hunger and poverty and to restore the environment by providing appropriate livestock and training to small-scale farmers worldwide. As women do the majority of farming on small scale farms, a gift from Heifer becomes a life-changing event. One of Heifer's key concepts is that each recipient must pass a gift of equal value to others in need. This "Passing on the Gift" assures that each participant in the program becomes a donor to another; enhancing dignity and and building a sense of community, as well as helping communities become self sustaining.

Please check out our Heifer Website at: www.heifer.org.

Community members are welcome to attend this meeting by reservation only; for details contact Holly Simmenroth at 908-879-5932.
