Lions Charter New Club at Rutgers University

LIONS CHARTER NEW CLUB AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY

(New Brunswick, January 2012) — A new Lions club comes to Rutgers University on January 26, 2012 when Rutgers graduate and undergraduate men and women celebrate the charter night of the Rutgers Visionary Lions Club at the Rutgers University Cook Campus Center at 7:30PM.

During the ceremonies, Lion Doug Reeder will present the members of the new club with their official charter. Members of the Edison Visionary Lions Club, who sponsored the formation of the Rutgers Visionary Lions Club, will also be on hand to congratulate members of the new club.

“I am proud to welcome these men and women into Lions. New Brunswick will be proud to have such a fine group serving their community,” said Mahesh Chitnis, charter president of the Edison Visionary Lions Club.

The Rutgers Visionary Lions Club plans to become involved with giving back to our local and global community through events such as a book drive to benefit refugees returning to Liberia, supporting a new housing project in New Brunswick, collecting eyeglasses to be recycled to help others gain sight, and raising funds to develop a community program in Africa with OrphanAid Africa.

The Rutgers Visionary Lions Club will meet on Mondays at 8 PM at The Rutgers University Livingston Student Center. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
